Final Wedding Blog!

Okay, honeymoon time!!!

A couple of weeks before the wedding, Tim and I were talking and decided to leave a day early to split up our drive.

I looked into fun towns along the stop and we decided on Frankfurt, KY. Easy drive for our first day, very walkable, and I found the cutest boutique hotel.

The Saturday after our wedding, in our very full car (I need options therefore I am NOT a light packer) we set off. After a pretty drive, we arrived and realized we hit the freaking jackpot.

The hotel was in the historic district, perfectly redone (looked exactly like the photos), and had a fine dining restaurant in the hotel itself along with a full whiskey bar. None of which was marketed well so it was a complete surprise.

Reservations were quickly made for an hour after our arrival and we proceeded to have one of the best dinners ever!! It was a southern cajun restaurant and it hit. We even got free dessert because it was our honeymoon!

One thing about Tim and I is we are foodies. We will be ordering cocktails, appetizers, entrees with sides, desserts, and dessert cocktails. We split everything too!

After dinner, we went and sat at the bar. We were right in Bourbon country (which I love) so we shared a Blantons (I have bad memories attached to this Bourbon and I wanted to create a hapopy one with my new husband) and it was wonderful! We explored the other sitting areas and such too.

The next morning we found a small diner for breakfast and the first of many iced coffees. We found a place like the OG Benjamin's (RIP).

A few pee breaks and a stop for some chicken tenders- we arrrived to Banner Elk, North Carolina deep in the mountains. It's a beautiful ski town.

We grabbed dinner and found our way to the Air Bnb we had booked almost a year prior. A 1960's A-frame with boulders, trees, and a pond. Absolutely beautiful!

The first day our mission was coffee and shopping. I have to get a t-shirt, sticker, or crewneck everywhere I visit.

We started the morning at a local coffee spot where I got a pumpkin iced latte and started looking for the best merch store.

After a breakfast at Vicious Biscuit which was UNREAL. More details to come.

We quickly found the place in town with Comfort Colors and went to explore. Stickers, a crewneck, a tshirt, and 2 shot glasses were aquired after a thorough search. I found the only oversized navy blue tee in the whole store- shocking.

That night, dinner was at Stonewalls. One of the oldeest steakhouses in the area and it was phenomal. We dressed up and we had so much fun!

Our waistress was so great! We split prime rib, a French style chicken dish. and a few desserts. For this dinner the cocktail of choice was a dirty martini with bleu cheese olives and an espresso martini with dessert!

A couple was legit like getting divorced next to us and it was so awkward, we were dying.

The second day in NC, we were tired and honestly just wanted to enjoy the cozy vibes of our Air BNB while it rained. Reservations were canceled and Pjs stayed on. We ended up hitting up Publix for breakfast foods and snacks. I felt like Sydney Adams.

We did end up finding our favorite coffee spot of the week though! Mountain Dog was unreal.

Then tried out the loft bed for a movie day! Harry Potter was NECESSARY! Like duh.

The third day in NC was my 27th birthday!!!! Such a perfect day.

We began by heading to a local bakery that made a limited amount of mini cakes a day and I was absolutely having birthday cake on vacation.

And made our way back to Viscious Biscuit. Like this restaurant was unreal! Chicken biscuits, a butter bar, sweet potato waffles, grits. and so much more. We ordered so much both times we went and everything was insane!

After a coffee stop and breakfast, we went back to the Air BNB to read our private vows to each other. We knew when we decided to have a wedding back at home that we would want to do this. Tim in his kilt and I wore my getting ready dress from our wedding.

We spoke from our hearts and both cried like babies.

After that special moment, it was time time hike! The weather was finally good and we both we so excited! Every vacation we've taken together so far has involved it!

We found a trail that ended at a waterfall! I will never get over the scenery in the mountains! it was my first time really spending time in deep Appalachia and we loved it.

Following the perfect birthday hike, we went back to get ready for my birthday dinner. I had found this insane farm to table restaurant that was seasonal called The Artisan that was prefix menu only. It was super upscale and had a dress code.

I had had the best time shopping for honeymoon clothes for Tim and I. I found this gorgeous white silk Abercrombie at the outlet and it was the only one and in my size!!

Our Uber picked us up (late- remember this) and we headed out of town to the farm area of Banner Elk.

We pulled up to this fancy bleached barn with black and everywhere. The staff was great, we were seated quickly, and on the way to the table realized everyone in the room was 30-50 years older and RICH.

After our waitress realized we weren't dumb, we ordered our drinks (it was a Pinot Noir night for me) and started checking out the menu!

We enjoyed so many unique items and it was seriously such a fun experience. Like it was such a treat for my birthday and we we felt so fancy!

Everything was going SO well until many hours and drinks later, we realized our car never sent details. And after a quick conversation with our waitress, we were told this happened to someone else just a few minutes ago and is a common occurrence.

After calling 2 private car services and many Uber failures- the lovely owner reassured us that she would handle it and arranged for us to be driven home by en employee.

It is hilarious now but was absolutely mortifying in the moment!

When we arrived back to our place, my husband sang happy birthday to me and we had my birthday cake sitting on the bed in our fancy clothes. It was glorious.

You may be wondering what Tim decieded to get me for my birthday? A FUCKING DAY IN CHARLESTON!! Just to shop at Hillhouse. Like how perfect??

We woke up on the 2nd and Tim drove us down to Charleston. I worse the dress I worse in our engagement photos and I felt so ready to shop.

We made it at 4 PM. Just driving in that city makes my soul happy so when we were talking to the store, I was beyond giddy.

First, we visited Nellie Cafe in the store (named after its owner) and I got an iced pumpkin spice latte to sip on.

The staff were all amazing and so kind. In a fancy store you always kind of expect employees to be rude but all of those girls were amazing!

Tim and I looked around and chose what I wanted to try on. I seriously want one of everything!!

I had to go with the Charleston exclusive since you can only get it there (blue one) and I added to my bow collection. I ordered the one in the middle too since it's perfect for fall!

They gave us a birthday discount and freebies! It was magical.

I wanted a few Charleston themed things so we went walking and found this adorable boutique. We ended up getting a hand written The Andersons 2025 blue and white shell, Charleston artwork, and a stickers.

ree

For dinner I had done my research through my fave Charleston influencers and ended up at a seafood place right on the ocean.

We enjoyed a mix of all of their fresh oysters, fried mixed seafood meal, and I loved their fall margarita!

Enjoyed an after dinner stroll down to the pier and found a couples' swing. We set there just looking at the ocean and talking about how lucky we are in life.

ree

This was after an attempted tshirt purchase (store closed early the one day we were there) and impromptu dessert!

We would've stayed there for weeks but we had to get back to reality. We hopped in the car and headed to Gatlinburg which was the perfect halfway point and we were familiar with is.

Poor Tim drove until 3 AM!!! When we got to our hotel the front desk person forgot we were coming and wasn't there for our arrival. We were locked out for 20 min before someone let us in.

That was an ordeal but we went up to our room and after some delirious laughter, fell asleep.

Our morning in Gatlinburg involved breakfast at a famous pancake house and a coffee spot in a little town right outside of the area.

We began our journey home after that! I love being in the car with Tim. It's such a great time for us to talk and listen to the playlist we made on our first road trip together.

ree

He drove the entire way but stopped at a Bucees for me. We had been before but this time we were in no rush so we explored. They are SO fun!

I purchased some chicken tenders, fries, and iced tea (yum) and we finished our journey home! Several pee breaks, Land Rover Defender sightings, and yawns later- we were home!

Our honeymoon was epic!!! We were so happy that we extended it a few days and make it such an experience.

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for supporting us through our engagement and wedding season. It has been amazing to share it with you all!!
