How to stay on track over the weekend

You have been doing great all week with your health goals. You have been drinking your water, eating a lot of protein, staying away from the leftover Halloween candy, then the weekend hits. You get busy and forget to drink water all day. You are out running errands and have to grab Taco Bell. You get invited to dinner with a friend and since she is getting a burger and beer you do too. No one wants to eat a salad on the weekend. Sunday you lay around all day and have zero motivation to do anything. You snack on Doritos while you watch the game and dive into the Halloween candy. Screw it! You’ll start again on Monday.

Sound familiar? It has happened to me so many times. This story takes ZERO imagination because it’s my life! I’m not perfect. I get derailed on the weekends too.

Here are some tips to help us both:

  1. Stay hydrated! When you’re on errands don’t forget to take your water bottle. You eat less when you aren’t thirsty.

  2. Order a lean steak when you go out to keep calories down and protein high. Add a side salad with a vinaigrette dressing and roasted veggies. And order first! This helps you not get peer pressured into ordering a plate of nachos.

  3. Stay active. You need your rest but do fun activities like hiking, going for a walk or play with your family in the yard. Even a little movement will have you feeling more energetic and happy!

Hope this helps you this weekend! Happy Friday!

Love you, Amy 💪🏼😘
