I used to write blogs weekly and have been on a hiatus but I am back!! Every Tuesday for the rest of the summer, you'll get a new blog from me!! You're welcome.
When Amy brought up me starting to write again, of course, I was all for it but I wasn't sure what I should come back with. Since my last blog my life has become work, working out, and planning Tim and I's September wedding.

That is until I stepped on the scale after 5 months yesterday and saw a number I thought I`d never see again.
If you're not familiar with my story, I`ll give you a brief run down. So I started working for my sister, Amy, in 2021 as her assistant and in February of 2022 she decided to certified in nutrition coaching and asked me to be her first client. I said yes and we got started!
I slowly added in classes and tracked my calories.
From there I fell in love with fitness and nutrition!
I`ve tracked on an off for years, consistently have worked out 5+ times a week, have done 75 Hard twice, and just completely changed my relationship with my body and how I think about food.
My starting weight was over 370 pounds and as of January 2025 I was down about 150 pounds!
Yesterday though, I stepped on the scale and it read 280. Now, I weighed myself on the last day of my period in the middle of the day so I'm going to say I actually am somewhere between 270 to 280 but still my heart sank.
I started freaking because what do you mean I've gained 20 to 30 pounds in a few months?
I instantly thought that years of hard work and everything was just down the drain.
That's not true though.
After a conversation with my mom, fiancé, and sister- I realized something.
My stomach is flatter than it ever has been, my ass rounder, my overall shape makes me happy, I'm able to do more in classes, and I am lifting heavier than ever before. My period has been regular and I feel good in my body.
My body at this weight the first time and my body today at the same weight is COMPLETELY different and that's a completely normal thing to happen during a fitness journey.
A lot of people don't realize or forget due to panic like myself.
Amy and I have had people come up and ask if it's normal to actually gain weight when you start eating healthier and working out- and it can be!
You body is gaining muscle and redistributing!!
I do plan to go into a mini cut just because it's my wedding season and I had already planned to for a bit before. I am going to try my best to not lose muscle but just lose a little fat.
Sue a girl for wanting her shoulders to be poppin extra in her strapless wedding gown ;)
I'm not going to let a number make me quit, fight against all the changes you can see in progress pictures, or make me go nuts.
You shouldn't either. We're doing this the correct and healthy way- that comes with all kinds of changes!!
Hell, I may just never weight myself again at this point because that number doesn't mean a whole lot in the grand scheme of things.
Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed. It was my first time writing in a hot minute and it was so much fun.
Remember this- fitness is never black and white. The most imortant things are staying consistent, improvement of overall health, feeling good in your body, and having fun!!!
See you next Tuesday xx
Love,
Bekah
